Annie Batt has to shoulder top weight here, but there’s plenty to like about her chances based on what she’s shown in stronger company.

She’s already had two attempts at Class 4 level and has performed with plenty of credit on both occasions, most recently producing a very good effort to finish runner-up at Navan. That form suggests she’s more than capable of being competitive from this sort of mark, and today’s drop into Class 5 company looks a significant positive.

This will also be her handicap debut, which leaves the possibility that there’s still more improvement to come now connections have found what looks a suitable opportunity for her. The weight is obviously something she’ll have to overcome, but she comes into this with solid recent form and arguably sets a decent standard on what she’s achieved so far.

Dropping in grade after going close last time makes her particular interesting, and if she can reproduce that Navan performance she should be right in the thick of things.
