Midnight Jet has won both starts since returning from a break, including a strong Fairyhouse maiden that has produced several subsequent winners. He made all comfortably at Killarney last time and looks capable of completing the hat-trick on suitable ground.

Laafi was first past the post in a valuable Aintree handicap before running another excellent race in the Swinton Hurdle. He remains progressive, has the tactical speed required for Galway and appears to have been prepared specifically for this prize.

Pink Oxalis finished fourth in this race last year despite missing the break and returns following an encouraging Curragh second. She is only 1lb higher than twelve months ago and should be finishing strongly if receiving a clearer passage.

Rhythm King is a previous Galway winner and recorded a strong recent speed figure despite finishing only sixth. He is attractively weighted after Reese Holohan’s 7lb claim, while the Mark Fahey stable is operating at a healthy recent strike rate. The wide draw is a concern, so he is an each-way selection rather than a win bet.
