Another highly competitive handicap and there’s a few I like here but I’m sticking by Slatterys here. GOD OF POWER started the season with a maiden win at Limerick and a good second at Listowel. He’s placed in some small field races recently and his form figures are possible somewhat flattered but his spring form has worked out extremely well and he’s proven to be steadily progressive since. His run last time demonstrated his stamina for this trip and that run makes him look like he could be on a lenient mark. Holds each way claims for an inform yard.

We’ve got a very short priced favourite to try and overturn here but even if we get a place it pays more than backing this 1/5 fav. This MEHMAS colt was a 100,000euro yearling and was just denied on last month’s debut in a Carlisle novice when his rider stopped riding prematurely and was caught close to home having been clear inside the final furlong. Effectively a winner without a penalty here and likely capable of much more. Worth taking a chance on and holds each way claims.

This is a highly competitive handicap and it will be tough to get the winner as anything can happen here however, I like the look of DMANIAC. Ended last season with a course and distance win and repeated that on seasonal reappearance in March. Both of those did come on heavy ground. The ground today is currently Yielding - Good which probably isn’t ideal in all honesty but worth giving a chance to at this price.
