Star Performer is progressing rapidly and returns to the same course and distance over which she produced an impressive Listed victory last month. She travelled strongly before pulling four and a half lengths clear, having also won her maiden on her previous start.

This is tougher at Group 3 level but she remains open to significantly more improvement than most of her older rivals and has a great chance to complete the hat-trick. ⁠

ARAPAHO GOLD is clearly the one they all have to beat as he bids to make it five wins from five. However, our selection looks capable of giving him another serious test.

The pair met at Newbury in July in the Listed Bowl Stakes, where our selection was beaten by just a neck after a very close finish. There was very little between them that day, and the key difference this time is that our selection receives a 3lb pull at the weights.

With such a narrow margin separating them previously, that weight swing could be enough to turn the form around and gives our selection every chance of reversing the Newbury result.

He got back to winning ways at York three starts ago in July, scoring from a mark just 1lb lower than today and has backed that up with two solid efforts since.

He also ran well in this race last year, finishing fourth from a 2lb higher mark.

He remains on a workable mark, arrives here in good form and looks to hold solid each way claims once again.

Dallas Star is an intriguing recruit to hurdling for Emmet Mullins. He brings a considerably higher level of Flat ability than his rivals, including a Ballysax Stakes victory and a Listed second over this course.

He has been competing from a Flat rating around 99 and this trip on good ground should suit him. His jumping must be taken on trust but if he transfers his Flat ability to hurdles, he could prove difficult to beat in this company.
