Celeron is the strongest overall model selection today. His wide-margin victory in the Group 2 Railway Stakes over this exact course and distance represents some of the strongest established juvenile form in the race, and his official rating of 112 gives him a significant ability edge over several rivals. Timeform have also sided with him to follow up that Railway Stakes success, while another major preview has him among today's strongest Curragh bets.

The main danger is Sun Goddess, particularly given the strength of the Ballydoyle record in this race, but the market appears to be putting considerable emphasis on connections. Celeron has already produced the stronger performance figure and we know he handles the Curragh's six furlongs extremely well.

Desert Charm has become a very reliable handicapper and comes here after a sequence that includes two recent victories and a narrow defeat. She has already demonstrated that a mile at Chepstow suits her, and recent form provides more confidence than the profile of many of today's exposed rivals.

The model particularly likes her combination of current form, course suitability and handicap position. Importantly, she isn't simply being selected because she won recently — her underlying performances suggest she has continued to run at a level capable of winning a race of this nature.

Timeform also make Desert Charm their selection in the 16:26, providing some independent support for the model's assessment.

Lohoobb shaped considerably better than the finishing position suggested on his first run for his current stable. He did particularly well relative to the runners who raced in a similar part of the field and the model expects improvement with that stable debut behind him.

This is the sort of horse where the model tries to look beyond raw finishing positions. The latest result may not immediately jump off the page, but the circumstances of the performance were much more encouraging.

Racing Post's current Sunday selections have also highlighted Lohoobb, noting that he shaped better than the result suggests on his stable debut.

He's still a maiden and therefore carries more risk than Celeron or Desert Charm, but at approximately 7/1 that uncertainty is built into the price.

Percy's Star is the more speculative selection but potentially has one of the biggest price discrepancies.

He has already won at Leicester, producing a particularly strong front-running display on his handicap debut earlier this season. He was raised 8lb afterwards but subsequent evidence suggests that victory wasn't a fluke, and today's lighter weight gives him an interesting position against several more exposed rivals.

The main question is the six-furlong trip. His best performance came over five, so he needs to settle well enough to conserve energy. That keeps him below the top three selections in confidence terms.

But if the market is still offering around 8/1, the model believes that price underestimates his chance.
